GoHighLevel and Google Meet Intgration – The single biggest source of friction in video call bookings is the app requirement. A prospect books a discovery call, receives the Zoom link, and their first task before the call is figuring out whether they need to download something, update something, or whether they can just click the link. For a segment of prospects — particularly less tech-savvy clients and older demographics — this friction results in a late start, a flustered first few minutes, or occasionally a missed call entirely.
Google Meet eliminates that friction. It runs entirely in a browser. Click the link, arrive in the meeting. No installation, no update, no separate account required for the client. For consumer-facing service businesses — coaches, financial advisers, mortgage brokers working with homeowner clients — this is a meaningful practical advantage over Zoom.
The integration with GoHighLevel is straightforward: Google Meet is part of GoHighLevel’s existing Google connection. If your Google Calendar sync is already set up, Meet link generation is already available.
Google Meet Pricing
| Option | Price | Meeting Limits |
| Free (Google Account) | $0 | 60-min limit for 3+ participants; unlimited 1:1 |
| Google Workspace Individual | $9.99/mo (approx. £8/mo) | 24-hour meetings, recording to Drive |
| Google Workspace Business Starter | $6/user/mo (approx. £4.80/user/mo) | 100 participants, recording, noise cancellation |
| Google Workspace Business Standard | $12/user/mo (approx. £9.60/user/mo) | 150 participants, attendance tracking, translated captions |
For GoHighLevel 1:1 bookings: A free Google account is fully sufficient. The 60-minute group meeting limit applies only with 3+ participants — 1:1 discovery and strategy calls have no time limit on the free tier. Google Workspace Business Starter at $6/user/month (approx. £4.80/user/month) is the upgrade path if you need call recording or run group sessions. Verify current pricing at workspace.google.com.
Step 1: Connect Google Meet via the Existing Google Integration
Google Meet link generation is part of GoHighLevel’s Google integration — the same OAuth connection used for Google Calendar sync. If your Google Calendar is already connected, you don’t need to do anything additional to enable Meet. It’s already available as a meeting location option.
If Google isn’t connected yet:
In GoHighLevel: Settings → Integrations → Google
Click Connect Google. Sign into your Google account (or Google Workspace account if you use one for business). Grant GoHighLevel the requested permissions — this covers Google Calendar access and the ability to create Google Meet links on your behalf.

Once connected, Google Meet appears in your calendar’s Meeting Location options.
Step 2: Set Google Meet as the Meeting Location
In GoHighLevel: Settings → Calendars → your calendar → Calendar Settings → Meeting Location
Select Google Meet from the dropdown. GoHighLevel now generates a unique Google Meet URL for every appointment booked on this calendar.
Like Zoom, each appointment gets its own unique Meet URL — not your personal recurring Meet room. The link is specific to that appointment time. Unlike a static personal room link, these expire after the session ends.
Step 3: Add the Meet Link to Confirmation and Reminder Templates
The confirmation variable for Google Meet is identical to Zoom: {{appointment.meeting_location}}
Example confirmation email:
Your consultation is confirmed.
Date: {{appointment.start_time | date: “%A, %d %B %Y”}} Time: {{appointment.start_time | date: “%H:%M”}} (UK time)
Join on Google Meet: {{appointment.meeting_location}}

No app required — Google Meet works directly in your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari). Just click the link at your appointment time.
Need to reschedule? {{appointment.reschedule_link}}
The “no app required” line matters. A meaningful number of prospects — particularly those less familiar with video calling — receive a Meet link and immediately wonder whether they need to install something. Including one explicit line eliminating that question reduces pre-call messages and ensures the prospect arrives on time rather than struggling with setup.
Apply the same variable to reminder templates. In both the 24-hour and 2-hour reminder templates, include {{appointment.meeting_location}}. Clients frequently search for the meeting link in the reminder rather than the original confirmation — if it’s only in the confirmation, expect regular “I can’t find the link” messages.
Step 4: Team Calendar Setup — Each User Connects Their Google Account
For round-robin or team calendars, each team member must connect their own Google account in their individual GoHighLevel user settings.
For each team member: Settings (or click their name) → User Settings → Integrations → Google → Connect Google → authorise with their Google account
When GoHighLevel assigns a booking to a team member, it creates the Google Meet link on that person’s Google account. The confirmation email sent to the prospect contains a link to that specific team member’s meeting.
Verification step: After each team member completes their Google connection, book a test appointment assigned specifically to them and confirm a valid Meet link generates. A team member who skips this step will result in appointments showing a blank meeting location — test before any real prospect goes through the calendar.
Step 5: Test the Complete Flow
Run a test booking before any real prospect uses this calendar:

- Open the booking page in a private browser window
- Book a test appointment with your own email and phone number
- Check your Google account → Google Calendar. The appointment should appear with a Meet link within 60 seconds
- Check the confirmation email — verify the Meet link is present and clickable
- Check the confirmation SMS — verify the link is included and not truncated
- Click the Meet link — confirm it opens a valid meeting room in the browser
If no Meet link appears after 2 minutes: disconnect and reconnect the Google integration in GoHighLevel Settings → Integrations → Google. Token expiry is the most common cause of link generation stopping on previously-working integrations.
When Google Meet Is the Right Choice (And When Zoom Is)
This is worth being direct about, because the “which video tool” question comes up frequently after implementation.
Google Meet is the right choice when:
- Your clients are primarily individuals rather than corporate buyers — mortgage borrowers, coaching clients, personal training clients, homeowners
- Reducing pre-call friction is a priority — Meet’s no-installation browser experience is consistently lower-friction for less tech-confident clients
- You already use Google Workspace for business email and calendar
- Free tier is sufficient (1:1 calls, under 60 minutes for groups)
Zoom is the right choice when:
- Your clients are business professionals who use Zoom as their standard conferencing tool
- You run group sessions with 3+ participants regularly and need the 40-minute cap removed (Zoom Basic caps at 40 min for 3+ vs Meet’s 60 minutes)
- You need cloud recording — Zoom Pro’s recording workflow (automatic recording, cloud storage, shareable link) is more mature than Google Workspace’s Meet recording
- Your discovery calls regularly require screen sharing and annotation tools
The hybrid approach: Some GoHighLevel implementations use different meeting location settings per calendar — Google Meet for initial discovery calls (maximum client-side simplicity), Zoom for longer strategy sessions or group calls where recording is needed. GoHighLevel supports different meeting locations per calendar, making this straightforward.
GoHighLevel and Google Meet Intgration – Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect Google Meet to GoHighLevel?
Go to GoHighLevel Settings → Integrations → Google and connect your Google account. Once connected, Google Meet is available as a meeting location option in Settings → Calendars → your calendar → Meeting Location. If Google Calendar sync is already set up, Meet is already available — no additional connection step needed.
Does GoHighLevel automatically create Google Meet links?
Yes, when Google Meet is selected as the meeting location in calendar settings. Each appointment generates a unique Meet URL automatically, available on the appointment record and via the {{appointment.meeting_location}} variable in notification templates.
Is Google Meet free to use with GoHighLevel?
For 1:1 calls: yes, completely free with any Google account, no time limit. For group meetings with 3+ participants, the free Google Meet tier limits sessions to 60 minutes. Google Workspace Business Starter ($6/user/month, approx. £4.80/user/month) removes the limit and adds recording.
How do I add a Google Meet link to GoHighLevel booking confirmations?
Edit your confirmation email and SMS templates in Settings → Calendars → your calendar → Notifications. Insert the variable {{appointment.meeting_location}} where you want the Meet link to appear. Add it to both confirmation and reminder templates — clients often look for the link in the reminder rather than the original confirmation.

Should I use Google Meet or Zoom with GoHighLevel?
Google Meet for consumer-facing businesses and individual coaching/consulting clients — the browser-based join is lower friction. Zoom for business professionals, group sessions, or when cloud recording is required. Both use identical setup in GoHighLevel and the same {{appointment.meeting_location}} variable in templates. See the companion GoHighLevel + Zoom guide for the full Zoom setup.
Can GoHighLevel create unique Google Meet links per appointment?
Yes. Each booking generates its own unique Meet URL — not a recurring personal room. Links are appointment-specific and expire after the session ends, which prevents old links from being accidentally reused.
What Google account do I need for GoHighLevel Google Meet integration?
Any Google account — personal Gmail or Google Workspace — works. For professional use, a Google Workspace account (business email on your domain) is recommended because Meet links are generated using your business domain rather than a @gmail.com address. The integration process is identical for both.
Why is my GoHighLevel Google Meet link not generating?
Most common causes: the Google OAuth token has expired (disconnect and reconnect the Google integration in Settings → Integrations → Google), the calendar’s Meeting Location is not set to Google Meet, or for team bookings, the assigned team member hasn’t connected their Google account in their individual User Settings. Check these three points in order.
Does Google Meet work for team calendars in GoHighLevel?
Yes. Each team member connects their Google account in their individual User Settings → Integrations → Google. When a booking is assigned to a team member via round-robin or team calendar, the Meet link is generated from that team member’s Google account. Test each team member’s connection by booking a test appointment assigned to them before going live.
Can I use Google Meet for group coaching through GoHighLevel?
Yes, with a caveat on the free tier. Free Google Meet limits group sessions (3+ participants) to 60 minutes. If your group coaching sessions exceed 60 minutes, you need Google Workspace Business Starter ($6/user/month, approx. £4.80/user/month) or above. For 1:1 coaching calls, the free tier has no time restriction.
